Dangerous goods are articles or substances which are capable of posing a hazard to health, safety, property, the environment or means of transportation.



A fair amount of dangerous goods are being used on a daily basis and we do not even know that the transportation of these goods needs to comply with special national and international requirements.

Classes and divisions

Dangerous goods are divided into 9 hazard classes depending on the nature of the hazard, some hazard classes are further sub-divided into hazard divisions due to the wide scope of the class.

Assigning the hazard level

Substances in 1. class are not automatically more hazardous than the ones in class 9.
